2026–2027 Roswell Robo Squad Season
We are excited to announce new opportunities for students during the 2026–2027 season.
This year, Roswell Robo Squad is expanding its programming to provide students with more opportunities to participate in robotics, STEM, engineering, 3D printing, outreach, and community events.
New Meeting Location: Roswell Mall
Roswell Robo Squad will be expanding its meeting activities to the Roswell Mall.
Most meetings are expected to take place at the mall, with additional meetings and activities at Hope Family Church of God.
The mall location will allow students to gain real-world experience by demonstrating robots, interacting with the community, and sharing what they are learning.
More Meeting Opportunities
We are expanding our schedule to help students who participate in:
- School sports
- Clubs
- Other extracurricular activities
- Jobs
- Family activities
Our primary schedule includes:
Friday: 4:00–7:30 PM
Saturday: 9:30 AM–1:30 PM
Additional meeting opportunities may be offered.
Families will receive advance notice of meeting locations and schedule changes.
📢 Important 2026–2027 Robotics Competition Announcement
A Major Change in the Robotics Competition Community
Roswell Robo Squad Robotics would like to inform our students, parents, families, and supporters about an important change for the 2026–2027 robotics season.
For many years, the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation (RECF) worked closely with VEX Robotics to support VEX robotics competitions around the world.
Beginning with the 2026–2027 season, VEX Robotics and the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation are operating as separate organizations. VEX Robotics competitions are now supported through VEX Robotics and the Global Robotics & Science Foundation (GRSF), while RECF has introduced a separate competition program called RECF Robotics.
What Does This Mean for Roswell Robo Squad?
This change means that families may see information about two different robotics competition programs during the 2026–2027 season.
The two programs have separate:
- Competition organizations
- Registration systems
- Event structures
- Competition rules and manuals
- Championship pathways
- Websites and resources
RECF has specifically stated that RECF Robotics is a separate competition program and is not authorized to organize or manage VEX Robotics competitions.
What About Our VEX Equipment?
One important point for teams is that existing VEX equipment does not simply become useless because of this organizational change.
RECF has stated that teams can continue using VEX parts in the RECF Robotics Competition, and its 2026–2027 information says existing field elements from previous seasons can be used in the RECF competition.
